Championship Moments
Champions are made in moments of victory, growth, kindness, and joy. These moments can look like a hug that changes someone’s day or a big win that fires up the crowd. It’s a song that charges the heart. It’s believing in someone so much that they start to believe in themselves.
These championship moments happen every day in the Jefferson City School District. These are the moments that change us and make us better. These are the moments that make us champions.
JC Schools support staff members, like our nutrition services team members and secretaries, are tirelessly committed to helping improve building outcomes and supporting the school team. They have a unique ability to build relationships with students, colleagues and other stakeholders while also demonstrating an exemplary, champion mentality.
These individuals show us that non-teaching staff can make a difference in the lives of our students.
For the past several years the Foundation has awarded over $300,000 to teachers in various school and classroom grants. The Prize Patrol awards funds for schools through innovative teacher ideas, science, math and technology needs, literacy materials, professional development group training, and other fine arts curriculum needs.

Students in our district have abundant opportunities to thrive beyond the classroom through extracurricular activities like sports, speech and debate, and drama. These programs build confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills, helping students grow personally and academically. We’re proud to support a well-rounded education that nurtures every student’s unique talents and interests. Our students also take time to volunteer, enriching them as individuals while building a strong community.
School custodians are the quiet heroes who keep our schools clean, safe, and running smoothly. They take pride in their work and care deeply about the students and staff they support. Their dedication, often behind the scenes, plays a vital role in creating a positive learning environment. We truly appreciate them!
We are so proud of our Class of 2025 Jays and Cavaliers! In total, 742 seniors graduated. This class earned $678,000 in local scholarships and included more than 400 all-conference, all-district, and all-state competitors. Of the seniors who took AP exams, 232 passed at least one and 43 were AP scholars. Twenty-two graduates will serve our country in the military. The Class of 2025 also included four Missouri Scholar 100 students.
Whether they're teaching our littlest learners their letters or preparing high school seniors for the AP exam, our teachers are dedicated to supporting our students and helping them grow academically. A key to this success is the relationships they foster with their students. Our teachers make students feel like someone is always in their corner -- something every champion needs.
