  • Hi! This is my fifth year at JCHS, and I'm happy to be here.

My educational and professional background includes both journalism and education. I have a bachelor's degree in journalism from MU and a master's in education from Stephen's College. Previously I taught with Columbia Public Schools. Prior to teaching, I worked in marketing/advertising, public relations, and in the journalism field as an editor, reporter/writer, and designer.

I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia but have lived in mid-Missouri since I moved here to attend Mizzou. I come from a large family, so I have several siblings and many nieces and nephews. I also have one son and two dogs, whom I love immensely!

I am a creative person and a fan of all the arts -- music, dance, theater, fine arts, photography and so on. In my free time, I like to see films and spend time relaxing and enjoying great food and conversation with friends and family. And, of course, I like to read a good book whenever I can squeeze it into my very busy schedule. Books and movies are a great escape and can also be impactful and life changing.

I live in Columbia, and, yes I listen to the good old fashioned radio on my daily drive time, which keeps me up to date on new music and current events.
