• English III
This course further develops the reading and writing skills established in previous English classes. We will focus on mastering the grammar and writing mechanics suited for both career and college, the analysis of persuasive elements in literature and day-to-day life, literary analysis (including fiction, non-fiction and poetry), and preparing students for college-style research assignments. This course is required for graduation.
Major texts include The Great Gatsby and The Crucible. Major papers include a persuasive argument research paper, various timed analytical writings, and an informative/explanatory research paper.
    Yearbook Production
Students will delve deep into all aspects of yearbook production -- including publication planning and story idea generation, interviewing sources, writing, photography and design. Students will also be involved in marketing the yearbook and selling ads. Students in this class are expected to be responsible, hard working, positive, creative and outgoing! We have a lot of work to do and many deadlines to meet! Though it's lots of fun, this class is not for the faint of heart!
