  • Hello, my name is Amy Fournie and I am excited to be teaching English II and Honors English II this year!  Here's a little bit more about me:

I'm originally from Belleville, Illinois, a town only a short distance southeast of downtown St. Louis.  I attended and graduated from Mizzou with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary English Education.  I then worked through the MU Fellows Graduate Degree program to earn a Master of Education degree in Learning, Teaching, and Curriculum with an emphasis in Learning and Instruction. I spent several years teaching English I as a part of Perspectives of Citizenship at Simonsen Ninth Grade Center, and I am thrilled to be a part of the inaugural team at Capital City High School this year!

I love writing, reading, and learning with my students.  In my class, we have fun and we work hard everyday.  When I'm not at school I like to spend time outside, running, biking, and relaxing.  I also enjoy cooking, baking, and eating delicious food.  I'm also a big fan of TV and movies, especially comedies.
