    2019 PRUDENTIAL SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY AWARDS
    NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF SECONDARY SCHOOL PRINCIPALS

    Applications are now open for 2019 Prudential Spirit of community Awards!  These awards honor students in grades 5-12 for making meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service.  Applications for 2019 awards are available at spirit.prudential.com and nassp.org/spirit.  Students must submit their completed applications to the counseling office by November 6, 2018.  Top state-level honorees, announced in February, earn awards including $1000 and an all-expense paid trip with a parent or guardian to Washington, D.C. for the program’s 24th annual national recognition events.  Runners-up at the state level earn medallions and Certificates of Excellence.

     

    SIUE Cougar Application Week October 1-7, 2018

    Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is excited to offer this opportunity to assist Missouri students in their desire to become an SIUE cougar!  During the week of October 1-7, SIUE is waving the $40 application fee for students who apply and are admissible based on criteria for both automatic and provisional admission.  The program is open to all seniors interested in attending SIUE in fall 2019 who meet the following criteria: Minimum 18 ACT or 960 SAT ERW+M and cumulative 2.5 GPA for automatic admission and 17 ACT or 920 SAT ERW+M or higher and cumulative 2.0 or higher for provisional admission.  The process is simple! Apply online any time between October 1-7, 2018, and submit the application. DO NOT pay the application fee. Make sure to have your transcripts sent to SIUE once you have made application!

     

    MATTRESS HELP SCHOLARSHIP

    *Current high school seniors attending school in the US or Canada or current college students already studying at an accredited US post-secondary institution,

    *You must be a US citizen,

    *Anticipating completion of high school diploma at time of application or already possession of high school diploma/GED,

    *Planning to or currently pursuing a degree at an accredited US post-secondary institution,

    *Carrying minimum of 3.00 GPA.

    To apply, please create a short video (no longer than 5 minutes) that answers the following:

    *What factors most negatively and positively affect your sleep?

    *Assess the quality of your own sleep health and discuss some ways that you can improve it.

    *Make your video creative and impactful both to yourself and others.

    *The most creative submission will win the scholarship.

    Upload your video to YouTube, make sure it is titled “Mattress Help Scholarship Submission-Your Name-Year” and include the link when you submit you application below.

    OppU Achievers Scholarship

    To be eligible, a student must:

    *be enrolled full time in high school or at least part time in college, graduate, professional, or trade school,

    *possess a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0,

    *be a US citizen.

    Winners for the OppU Achievers Scholarship are selected 4 times a year, with submission deadlines on September 30, December 31, March 31, and June 30.
