    The Foundation for Rural Service (FRS), in cooperation with NTCA-The Rural Broadband Association, seeks to sustain and enhance the quality of life in America by advancing an understanding of rural issues.  Through its various programs and initiatives, FRS strongly supports the continuing education of rural youth.

    Eligibility:  Each applicant must be a graduating high school senior; be a US citizen; be sponsored by a current NTCA-The Rural Broadband Association member; be accepted by an accredited two-or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school; have at least a C grade point average (GPA); and express an interest to return to a rural community following a graduation.

    Applications can be picked up in the counseling office.

    Applicant must score one of the following:  have a GPA of 3.25 or better OR rank in the top 25% of applicant’s graduating class OR have a score of at least 23 on the ACT OR at least the 82nd percentile on the SAT.  Applicant must be applying for entrance to an accredited institution of higher learning, i.e., a Junior or Community College or University.  Your application must be judged or endorsed by your local Kiwanis Club in the Missouri-Arkansas District of the Kiwanis International. YOU are responsible for submitting your application, with appropriate attachments, to your local sponsoring Kiwanis Club and YOU are responsible for insuring that the materials required from the School Principal, Faculty Members and parents are submitted to the sponsoring Kiwanis Club, as listed at the bottom of the front page of the application.  Application deadline is January 15, 2019. Applications can be picked up in the counseling office.

    HAWTHORN BANK is offering four $1000 scholarships to deserving high school seniors for the 2018-2019 school year.  Applications are due to the bank no later than March 31, 2019. The current application form is available on the website www.Hawthornbank.com under About Us/Community Programs/2019 Scholarship Application.  These scholarships are offered bank wide to the 22 banking locations.  Bank customer affiliation is not required for eligibility of this scholarship.



    ELIGIBILITY:  female, education major or related field, exhibits financial need, and demonstrates academic ability/involvement.  Application must be postmarked on/before January 31, 2019. Applications can be picked up in the counseling office.
