JC Schools Summer School
  • JC Schools Summer School 2022: Monday, June 5 - Thursday, June 29


    • Dates: Monday, June 5th through Thursday, June 29th
    • Summer school runs Monday through Thursday for three of the four weeks.
    • Juneteenth will be celebrated on Monday, June 19th. Therefore, summer school will be held Tuesday, June 20th through Friday, June 23rd for week three.
    • Students will attend summer school based on their grade for the 2023-2024 school year.


    • Summer school times for this year will be different than in the past:
      • 8:00am - 11:00am or 12:00am - 3:00pm for ECSE
      • 8:00am - 3:00pm for grades K-8
      • 7:40am - 3:40pm for grades 9-12
    • Also new for this summer is a half-day option at the elementary level. However, transportation will not be offered at midday times and an AM/PM preference cannot be guaranteed. Check with your school for details on this option.

    **NEW FOR 2023: Elementary “Champ Camp” Summer School Sites**

    • The following elementary schools will be combined into host sites:
      • Callaway Hills & North students will attend NORTH.
      • Thorpe Gordon & Moreau Heights students will attend MOREAU HEIGHTS.
      • South & Cedar Hill students will attend CEDAR HILL.
      • West & Belair will attend BELAIR.
    • The following elementary schools will attend summer school in their current building:
      • East, Lawson and Pioneer Trail.
      • SWECC (ECSE only) 8-11 or 12-3


    • Current JC Schools students in grades K-7 should be receiving the Summer School Enrollment & Transportation form from their building next week. These forms should be filled out or returned to the building secretary at your student’s current school as soon as possible. 
    • Current 5th graders (incoming 6th graders) will attend summer school at the middle school they will attend in the fall.
    • Families with incoming kindergarten students will complete summer school enrollment when registering for kindergarten with the Welcome Center.

    HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS (incoming 9-12th graders)

    • There is a transportation form available upon request on each high school’s website and at the counseling office of each building. This form should be filled out or returned to the counseling department at your student’s school as soon as possible. 
    • Current 8th graders (incoming 9th graders) will attend summer school at the high school they will attend in the fall (an exception to this will be any students who are not meeting the middle school accountability expectations and are notified directly by their current middle school).
    • Summer school enrollment documents should be turned in to your student’s current school office. Enrollment questions can also be directed to your school office. Links to summer school enrollment information will be posted on the district website on Tuesday, February 28th.
