I teach Physics First at Simonsen 9th Grade Center. I have previously taught physical science and biology in Virginia and am certified to teach in both Virginia and Missouri.
I received a Bachelor of Science degree from James Madison University and a Master of Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University (recently well-known for its basketball achievements!). I have spent a large portion of the past several years working closely with university faculty and public school teachers in an effort to rethink science education and to build curriculum that is inquiry based. I have been devoted to creating lessons for students that involve a high level of engagement and critical thinking capacity.
I love the Physics First program here at Simonsen, as this course is designed to push our kids to interact with the lessons and discover the material through hands on activities and not from their teacher simply “telling them”.
