     Course Description

Physics First is a course designed to introduce students to the basics of matter and energy and the interactions between them. Students will learn why the world around them functions. The best part of Physics First is that we will actually apply our math skills and make them useful. All those students who ask, “Why do I need to learn math?” will finally have an answer!

The units that we will cover this year include:

    1. Uniform Motion

    2. Accelerated Motion

    3. Forces and Newton’s Laws

    4. Application of Newton’s Laws

    5. Energy and Electricity

With each of these units, we will have many hands-on activities and labs. Students will be expected to understand both the overall concepts involved with each of these units, as well as the math applications.
