Brett Myers is in his 8th year as Director of Bands for Jefferson City Public Schools and Jefferson City High School. Mr. Myers also serves as Fine Arts Lead Teacher and is currently in his 21st year of teaching. Mr. Myers spent 8 years as Director of the Hillsboro Band Program after previously serving as Director at Hamilton, Illinois and Cambridge, Illinois respectively. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Culver- Stockton College in 1999 and his Master’s Degree from Western Illinois University in 2004. While at Western Illinois, Mr. Myers served as Graduate Assistant of University Bands including the Marching Leathernecks and the Western Illinois University Wind Ensemble. Currently, Mr. Myers teaches all bands at the high school, which include the Marching Jay Band, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Jazz I and Jazz II and Pep Band. Mr. Myers also teaches Intro to Music Theory, Advanced Music Theory and History of Jazz, Pop and Rock. Mr. Myers is active in the music throughout Missouri, which includes drill writing for other schools, judging marching competitions and MSHSAA music events. Mr. Myers' professional affiliations include MMEA (Missouri Music Educators Association), MSTA (Missouri State Teachers Association), NAFMe (National Association for Music Education and MBA (Missouri Bandmasters Association).
