Greetings! I am Rhonda Allen and I am happy to be a teacher at Thorpe Gordon Elementary! This is my eleventh year at Gordon and my thirteenth year of teaching. I enjoy every minute of my profession and believe whole heartedly that EVERY child is capable of learning. I also believe it is my job to do WHATEVER it takes to help them learn and be successful.
Our class motto is NO SHORTCUTS. NO EXCUSES: which basically means that you have to work hard to achieve your goals and it's not easy! It also means that no matter the circumstances, you cannot make excuses for not being able to achieve your DREAMS. I NEVER accept less than what I know my students can do!
Just to tell you a little more about me, I am a native of Jefferson City where I attended St. Peter Elementary School and East Elementary. I graduated from Jefferson City High School and then attended Lincoln University where I earned a B.S. in Elementary Education. I also have a Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling. I have many things I would like to do in the future: the sky's the limit!
My other passion (other than teaching) is music. Many of my lessons in my classroom are taught through singing, rapping, and chanting! I enjoy singing at church, for weddings, and other events, participating in community theatre, writing plays/skits, and spending time with my family! I also recently got a new puppy named Winston. He is a full Beagle and FULL of energy!
