My name is Kim Bruce, and this is my 20th year in education. Before coming to Lewis and Clark Middle School, I taught at North Elementary in the JCPS, Bush School in the Fulton Public Schools district, and worked for the MO Dept. of Education (DESE).
I live in Jefferson City with my husband, Steve, and two daughters Abigail and Sophia. Abigail is a 6th grader here at Lewis and Clark and Sophia is a 9th grader at Simonsen. Both girls keep us busy with their activities; they are involved in competition ice skating, band, orchestra, stuco, speech/debate team, track, and church groups at First United Methodist Church. We have two spoiled-rotten dogs; a Beagle-mix named Eddie, and a Bassett-hound named Bailey.
My educational certifications include Elementary 1-6, Spanish K-9, Language Arts 5-9, and Administration K-8. I have an Ed.S in Educational Leadership, M.Ed in Leadership and Policy Analysis, and a B.S.Ed in Elementary Education. I am currently a doctoral student at William Woods University working on my dissertation. I love learning about teaching and attending classes with others interested in the education field!
In my free time, I enjoy reading Dean Koontz mysteries, scrapbooking, tent camping, spending time with family, going to my favorite restaurant (Red Lobster), and decorating wedding/birthday cakes/cookies! I am looking forward to a great year of teaching and learning with the students and teachers at LCMS!
