Peyton Orban Named as New Executive Director for the JC Schools Foundation

JEFFERSON CITY – The Jefferson City School District today announced that Peyton Orban has been named as the new executive director for the JC Schools Foundation. Orban has been serving as the Foundation’s acting director since February 2022, and was previously the Foundation’s development director.

“The Jefferson City School District and JC Schools Foundation are incredibly excited for Ms. Orban to officially take the helm as our next executive director,” said Ryan Burns, JC Schools director of communications. “Since joining the Foundation team in 2020, Peyton has demonstrated a sincere commitment to the staff and students of our district, as well as a firm determination to continue the growth and success of the Foundation.”

“On behalf of the Foundation Board of Directors, we are so pleased for Peyton to continue in the role of executive director,” Paula Burnett, Foundation board president said. “There is no doubt Peyton has the skills and experience needed to build relationships in the community and ensure the Foundation achieves our mission of lifting up our teachers and students.”

“I am passionately committed to serving the JC Schools Foundation as the next executive director,” said Peyton Orban. “I look forward to continuing our efforts to establish connections and secure opportunities for our JC Schools teachers and students. I plan to place an emphasis on creating flexible funding to support filling needs for every building in our district. Leading the Foundation in this role will also fulfill my goals to serve this community that I am so honored to call home.”

Peyton Orban joined the JC Schools Foundation in 2020 as the development manager. Her non-profit experience includes working as the director of business operations for Burns Recovered, an organization whose mission is to help every burn survivor live life to the fullest without limitations. Since relocating to Jefferson City in 2020, Ms. Orban has served on the board of the JC Arts Foundation, is a member of the Chamber’s Young Professionals service committee, and is a member of the Leadership Jefferson City Class of 2022. She received a bachelor’s degree in public relations with a minor in marketing from Missouri State University.

Susan Bass will join Peyton on the Foundation team in the role of office manager. Mrs. Bass has been with the district for 15 years and served most recently as the secretary for the Miller Performing Arts Center. Since joining the Foundation team, she has proven to be a valuable asset.

The Jefferson City Public Schools Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to raising funds to support teachers and students of the Jefferson City School District. The Foundation’s mission is to champion a legacy of excellence where possibility becomes reality for every JC Schools student.
