JC Schools Announces Darrell Luebbert Named Head Boys Wrestling Coach for Jefferson City High School

JEFFERSON CITY - The Jefferson City School District announced that Darrell Luebbert will be the new Head Boys Wrestling Coach at Jefferson City High School (JCHS).

Luebbert has 13 years of coaching experience, 10 of which have been with the Jefferson City School District. He has coached high school and middle school wrestling, as well as high school and middle school cross country, baseball and football at South Callaway R-II School District. Prior to his career in coaching, Luebbert was a three-time state qualifier with over 100 career wins for JCHS wrestling. He went on to wrestle for Missouri Valley College in Marshall where his team won regionals and placed third in the nation in 2004 and placed second in regionals and second in the nation in 2005.

“We are thrilled for Coach Luebbert to take the reins of our JCHS wrestling program, ” said Jefferson City High School Principal Dr. Deanne Fisher. “Coach Luebbert has been a champion wrestler and coach throughout his career, and he will join the ranks of champions leading activities across JC Schools. We can’t wait to see where his talents and dedication take our wrestling program at Jefferson City High School.”

“I am very excited to have this opportunity,” new JCHS Head Boys Wrestling Coach Darrell Luebbert said. “I plan on continuing the success and tradition of Jays Wrestling through hard work, preparation and teambuilding.”

Luebbert has been in education for over 15 years. He has taught health, physical education, special education and industrial technology. He has a degree in education and a masters in athletic administration.
