JEFFERSON CITY - The Jefferson City School District today announced that Tracey Braden will join the Jefferson City School District as the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Capital City High School (CCHS). 

Braden comes to JC Schools from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee where she was the head women’s basketball coach and assistant athletic director/senior women’s administrator. In her five seasons, she coached 10 All-Conference honorees and 32 selections to the league’s academic honor roll. 

Prior to Sewanee, Braden was the head women’s basketball coach for 10 seasons at Westminster College in Fulton. She led her team to four St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) regular season championships. Westminster won the SLIAC in 2012 and 2013 which earned them a bid into the NCAA tournament. Braden was named SLIAC Coach of the Year four times and is the all-time winningest coach in Westminster history. Westminster inducted her into their Athletics Hall of Fame in 2018. 

Braden served as head girls coach at California High School, Harrisonville High School, and Winnetonka High School from 1999-2007. She was named Tri-County Conference Coach of the Year three times. Braden also coached track and volleyball at the high school level while teaching physical education and health.

Coach Braden brings high energy, a wealth of experience, and an amazing record of success which fits perfectly with what we are looking to accomplish with our girls basketball program. I am confident that Coach Braden will quickly establish the program to play at a competitive level.”

Braden has a bachelor's degree in physical education with certification in physical education and health. She has been a career teacher, coach, and administrator for over 24 years.
