I am the Title 1 Reading Interventionist here at West and provide reading services through the use of small groups and individualized instruction. I previously taught third grade for five years, sixth grade English in a middle school for six years, and then 5th grade for 2 years at Belair Elementary. I have been in Title 1 since 2018. I graduated with my bachelor's degree in education from Hannibal LaGrange University and earned my master's degree from William Woods University. I also have training in Reading Recovery and am going through LETRS training with the district.
I come from a family of educators and always wanted to be a teacher. My dad was even my middle school principal! My husband is currently a chaplain for hospice and a pastor. We have three children, one at Capital City High School, one at Thomas Jefferson Middle School, and one here at West. Some of my hobbies include watching my children's activities such as drumline and marching band, cross country and track, and T-ball, reading fiction books, writing stories and blogging, and playing board games with my family. The best way to contact me is through email.
