Jefferson City Academic Center

Learning. Partnerships. Stewardship.

  • National School of Character

In August 2006, the Jefferson City Academic Center, the district’s first alternative school, opened its doors. From the beginning, staff agreed upon a rigorous and challenging curriculum, but felt strongly about the development of the “whole child” by integrating social and emotional skills into the curriculum to establish trusting and caring relationships with others. Together we model and practice our core values so there is understanding by all who become part of the JCAC community as we embrace and practice good character.

    • Let’s celebrate Mrs. Carla Brown!! Her 50 years and never-ending life of giving! Do something for someone to honor her and post about it. Maybe read a book to a child, run a 5K for charity, buy food for the animal shelter, visit a nursing home, volunteer at a Food Pantry--these are all passions of Mrs. Brown’s. Think outside the box, just like she would do! We hope to get 50 people to celebrate her so join us and post your activity to social media.  Make sure to use the hashtag #CarlaBs50favs. Happy 50th birthday Mrs. Brown! Click the link and search for that hashtag!
