• JCAC – Freshmen Program:

Students who are in this program are categorized as at-risk of not graduating with their four year cohort based on data from the middle school.  These students spend a half day at JCAC and the other half of their day at their home high school.  There are some students from both high schools in this program.  The goal is to create a successful first year of high school with academic and social supports so that they can be full time sophomores the following year.

The JCAC Freshman Academy program has been selected by Character.org as a 2022 Promising Practice. Promising Practices demonstrate significant impact and are fully aligned with one or more of Character.org’s 11 Principles Framework for Schools: A Guide to Cultivating a Culture of Character. Specifically, we were recognized for " using a comprehensive, intentional, and proactive approach to develop character."

We will then move into Personal Finance, which explores how to make good financial decisions.
