As principal of North Elementary, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our school website. North Elementary is a kindergarten through Fifth grade school serving the community and surrounding areas of Holts Summit, Missouri. We are pleased to offer you this website as a communication tool as one of many ways in which we interact with our parents, community, or those seeking more information about our school.
It is an honor for me to be a member of an experienced staff that works so hard at giving each student an outstanding educational experience. We are deeply committed to make a positive difference in the lives of our students. North School has a tradition of excellence in the classroom and beyond. The quality of our staff is one of the reasons for our tradition of excellence. Equally important, is we have been blessed with parents who are committed to the understanding that education is the foundation of success for their child.
As an educational team, we are dedicated to academic excellence and holding high expectations to ensure that each and every student will be a successful learner. We are committed to creating a safe and positive learning environment where staff and students promote and model responsible, respectful behavior in order to provide each student the best learning opportunity.
Literacy is a focus at North Elementary School. Students receive whole class, small group, and individual instruction that focuses on the skills being taught to ensure that students become fluent readers. Every child receives a minimum of 90 minutes a day of research based reading instruction by highly qualified teachers.
Along with academic excellence, North Elementary is also committed to the social and emotional needs of our students. We offer site-based counseling and social skills training to help students form positive relationships. We encourage students to be kind and take a stand against bullying.
North Elementary has an involved, supportive Parent Teacher Organization. This organization is vital in supporting the educational needs of all students. Parent and community involvement are critical to the success of our students. We welcome your involvement in your child’s educational experience and our school activities.
As principal of North School, I dedicate myself to serve our community as a lead learner and to support all students in their educational development. I am extremely proud and very excited to be a part of the development of your child.
