    Hello Callaway Families!

I’m Malissa Pistel, and I’m thrilled to begin my 30th year in public education and my ninth year at Callaway Hills. Throughout my career, I’ve taught both lower and upper elementary grades and hold eMints certification. Additionally, I spent five years as an Instructional Coach here at Callaway Hills.

I’m married and have a 13-year-old son, Jeremy, who will be turning 14 in October and is an excited LC Trailblazers. My family and I live in my hometown of Fulton, where I completed my undergraduate studies at Westminster College and my graduate work at William Woods University. We’re avid Mizzou fans and regularly attend football and basketball games.  We particularly enjoy watching Jeremy play basketball. Personally, I love reading, learning, baking, and traveling.

As I embark on my third year as principal at Callaway Hills, I’m looking forward to an exciting 2024-2025 school year. I’m eager to collaborate with students, families, and staff to ensure it’s a year of significant learning and growth for all CH Cougars!

I strongly believe in the power of teamwork. By working together—parents, teachers, students, and administration—we can create the most positive and enriching learning environment possible. Our shared commitment to student success is at the core of what we value at Callaway. Together, we can help our students become lifelong learners and happy, productive citizens. Together, WE Can Achieve the Extraordinary!
