― Dr. Seuss, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!

Hello!  I am a life-long learner.  I graduated from Lincoln University with an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education.  I then went on to University of Missouri-Columbia and received my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction.  Recently, I completed coursework to gain my reading certification.
While attending University of Missouri Columbia, I taught fourth grade at Hallsville Elementary.  The following year, I began teaching at Thorpe Gordon, I was a classroom teacher for eight years.  I taught Reading Recovery/Title 1 groups for four years.  I was able to teach students at East and Moreau Heights the gift of reading.  This year, I am excited about my new role as an Instructional Literacy Coach for East Elementary and Moreau Heights Elementary.  With this new role, I am gaining additional knowledge on coaching, literacy, and instructional practices.  I'm excited to continue to learn and grow professionally!
My husband Craig and I live on a farm near Linn with our three girls.  We enjoy the outdoors and spending time with our family.  You can also often find me reading a great book.
