  • Welcome to Mrs. DuPree's 4th Grade Class!

I am so excited for my 7th year as a 4th-grade teacher at East!  I am very proud to be an Eagle and love seeing all that can be accomplished when East school students set their minds to something!

I graduated from JCHS in 2004, earned my bachelor's in psychology from Drury University in 2008, and became a teacher through Columbia College in 2015.  I am always learning,  from professional development training all over the country and from every student I work with!

My husband Joaquin and I live across the river with our two children.  Our daughter Lenora just turned 7 and is a little firecracker.  Our son Charles is 11 and is either a video game fanatic, a future professional baseball player, or a rugged outdoorsman, depending on when you ask him. Both of my children will be attending East School this year as a 2nd grader and 5th grader. Both my kids love hearing 4th grade stories and my school kids definitely hear a lot about my family's adventures!

When I'm not at school, I enjoy cooking, gardening, and taking care of our cats, dog, chickens, and bees!  I love outdoor activities like camping, fishing, and going on float trips.

I tell my students on their first day that I am quirky and teach things differently than they may be used to.  If your child comes home and tells you that I was shooting rubberbands across the classroom or rolling kids down the hallway on scooter boards, it is probably true- for the purpose of teaching different forms of energy and motion in science!    I find that the most memorable learning experiences I have had in my life come from events or lessons that were a little bizarre. I strive daily to create unique and memorable learning experiences for my students as well!
