Hello!  My name is Kareena Sherfield and I have been teaching at West Elementary since 2019.  

I am originally from a small town in Nebraska.  After high school, I joined the Navy.  I was stationed in Bahrain for 2 years and provided Mobile Security for the Military Sealift Command as they transited the Mediterranean, Suez Canal, Red Sea, Gulf of Aden, Arabian Sea, Gulf of Oman, and the Persian Gulf while providing fuel and supplies to Navy Ships.  In 2007 I was stationed in Norfolk, VA on the USS Mahan DDG72.  I went on 3 deployments to the Arabian Sea.  I was honorably discharged in September 2011 and I moved to Washington State.  I was fortunate enough to visit 13 countries all while serving my country.

I met my husband in Washington State.  I decided it was time to go back to school and get my degree in teaching.  I have always wanted to teach kids.  I got my Associate in Arts from Olympic College in 2015 and my Bachelor's Degree in Education from Western Washington University in 2018.   

My husband and I moved to Missouri in June 2018 to be closer to family.  We have a daughter named Lily, a cat named Aria, and a German Shepard Dog named Sophie.  We love to play board games/card games and watch movies together.  We also enjoy having our friends and family over! I still have my love for traveling and seeing the world. I also enjoy playing my trumpet. 

I am looking forward to what this year will bring and am excited to be in the classroom teaching!
