Hello Moreau Heights families! I am so excited to join the school as a 3rd grade teacher this year! This is my 27th year in education and I have been in the Jefferson City School District for the past 15 years. For the first 8 years in the district, I taught 3rd grade at North Elementary and for the past 7 years I served as the instructional coach at Lewis and Clark Middle School. Prior to coming to Jefferson City, I taught in Fulton Public Schools and worked for the Missouri Department of Education. In 2019, I completed my doctorate in curriculum leadership and I have my specialist and master's degrees in educational administration. I am certified to teach K-9th grade Spanish, 1st-6th grade elementary, 5th-9th grade language arts and be a K-8th grade principal.
I live in Jefferson City with my two daughters, Sophia and Abby Bruce and a (slightly chunky) beagle named Eddie. Abby just graduated Jefferson City High School and is attending the University of Central Missouri - Warrensburg in the fall to study psychology and counseling. Sophia just graduated from State Tech with her RN and is a new hospital nurse at Capital Region.
In my free time, I also work for Jefferson City Parks and Recreation driving the fall hayride tractor, and at the various ballfields and amphitheater for concessions. I also enjoy playing pickleball with the Jefferson City Pickleball Club, reading thrillers & mysteries and decorating cakes/cookies. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you and a great year at Moreau Heights!
