Tara Matson

Hi! I am Tara Matson and thrilled to be the Physical Education Teacher at Cedar Hill. Students will be engaged in a variety of physical activities that make physical education fun, exciting and enjoyable. I am starting my 20th year teaching Physical Education. My first six years of teaching, I taught and coached (Assistant Girls Basketball 6 years, Assistant Track 1 year, Assistant Girls Softball 2 years and Head Girls Golf 2 years) at Fort Osage High School in Independence, MO. The past 13 years, I have been teaching Elementary Physical Education in the Hickman Mills School District in Kansas City, MO.

I grew up in Midwest, Wyoming where I devolped my love for the great outdoors and adventure. My family has lived in Jefferson City for 23 years. I am the oldest of three (my little brother went to Cedar Hill). I have three amazing nieces ages 6,12, and 15. Gus is my awesome dog. My favorite hobby is fly fishing. I also enjoy biking the Katy Trail, camping, canoeing, hiking, and going on adventures.

I attended and played baskeball in college at Casper College (Associates in Physical Education) and Florida Atlantic University.  I finished my Bachelor Degree in K-12 Physical Education, and Master Degree in Physical Education/Sports Administration at University of Central Missouri.
