Charley Harper Inspired Animals
For the past week, I have been working diligently on getting artwork ready to return to you next week (May 19-22). You will be receiving notice from Moreau Heights of a time to come pick up your child's belongings, materials and work from school.
So far, I have had the time to create one lesson and one video for my students this week. This Friday, I will be traveling with my daughter to clean out her apartment from the University of Alabama. If I can finish preparing artwork early, before I travel, I will add another lesson or two to this week. I have discovered that I sure enjoy the artwork of Charley Harper. I would love to create some more projects with you.
This is the artist Charley Harper. He was an American Artist who called himself a Minimal Realist. He said that he created art with the simplest forms of line, shape, color, and pattern. We are going to study his work and create a Charley Harper inspired Fawn.

Star Wars and Mother's Day Ideas
May the 4th Be with You:
I am a huge Star Wars Fan. When I was 6, my Dad took me to my first ever Movie in a Movie Theater. I saw the original Star Wars New Hope. It's the first movie I remember going to as a child. Although there are not official art assignments this week, if you are looking for things to create, read on ahead.

James Rizzi
- I just realized that I forgot to approve this weeks videos and 2 of the Robot Videos for JC Schools viewing. If you were unable to view a video, it should now be working for you. My apologies.
This week we are going to study the art of James Rizzi. Rizzi was a American Pop Artist. The link includes a PDF with slides about Rizzi and his work. The middle of the PDF is the lesson with good details. The end includes some links to videos that are appropriate for children. I will be uploading a video of me creating the James Rizzi Cityscape by April 27th.
K-2 James Rizzi Cityscape This is a simpler version for younger students. James Rizzi Video Grades K-2
3-5 James Rizzi Cityscape This lesson includes directions for a creating a middle ground. It is more appropriate for older students and more advanced younger students who understand what a middle ground is. James Rizzi Video Grades 3-5
If you are further interested, I learned about this lesson from Cassie Stephens. This is the link to the plan, the original video and her blog. There are many more cool things to explore here including lesson plans for School Closures. Cassie Stephens James Rizzi Landscapes

I will upload it as an optional creative outlet for you when I finally have it ready. In the meantime, here is a link to a sculpture project that you can create at home with your parents.

The following Three links are the documents that I just sent you in next weeks school packet. They include website links for art exploration and creation, and lesson plans for K-2 and 3-5. Please have fun with these and learn something new. Plus send me photos of your work to my email.
