    My Name is Rick Rother 
     
    I am a graduate of the University of Missouri twice over. My first degree is a Bachelor's of Fine Art with an emphasis in Drawing and Painting; including a minor in Art History.
     
    After several years, I returned to Missouri and re-entered the University of Missouri this time seeking a Master's Degree in Art Education.
     
    I began teaching in 2009 here at Cedar Hill, which has been my educational home since!
     
    I emphasize creating fundamental skills within the Art Studio. Students will be more confident and willing to explore their own interests if they have the skillset to visually interpret and express themselves through multiple mediums. To that end, I focus on drawing and representational approaches, so a student may artfully convey their ideas and have the confidence to go beyond the classroom content with their own artistic choices.
