Dear Families, 

Welcome to first grade at Thorpe Gordon STEM Academy! We are going to do so many amazing things together this year. I can’t wait to get started! You will not believe how much your child will learn and grow this year. We have so much planned, and I am looking forward to building a positive relationship with your child!

My name is Courtney Matthews, and this will be my second year of teaching. I graduated from Truman State University in December 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and  graduated in May 2024 with a Masters in Elementary Education. This is my first year in the Jefferson City School District, and I am so excited to start my second year of teaching at Thorpe Gordon STEM Academy. It is going to be a great school year! When I am not teaching, I am usually spending time with my  family and friends.  I like to go on nature walks. I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for us!
