Dear Pioneer Trail Students and families,
Welcome to the Library! I hope you all had a fun, relaxing summer, and are ready for the beginning of a new school year!
My name is Kaitie Bax and I am thrilled to be your Library Media Specialist! This will be my 13th year teaching and I am very excited for the year ahead of us, and am lucky to have your child be a part of our library community. This will be my seventh year teaching at Pioneer Trial. I spent four years teaching 4th grade at PT and this year will be my 4th year as the Library Media Specialist. I also spent five years teaching in Blue Springs School District.
Since you probably don’t know me very well, I am going to tell you a little about myself. I grew up in Blue Springs, Missouri. I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and also completed my Master’s degree from MU with a degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I am always excited to share new learning strategies and try new things in the library this year.
In May 2016, I married my husband Trent. We moved back to his hometown, Jefferson City in 2017. We now have two boys and a daughter. Brecken is our 6-year-old, Brooks is our 4-year-old and Blakely was just born in April. They bring us so much joy! We also have a dog named Reggie, he is a golden retriever. It's safe to say, they keep me busy! I enjoy spending my free time with family and friends. I also enjoy watching movies, reading a good book, and shopping in my free time.
I believe that parent involvement in their child’s education plays a key role in their success. My hope is to have an open line of communication with every one of you so that we are able to work together to make this a successful year for your child. If at any time you have questions or concerns, please contact me. I will be more than happy to visit with you. During school hours, it is easiest to reach me through e-mail. You may also call the school and leave a message with our secretary. I am looking forward to a great year in the Library!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kaitie Bax
