BEFORE/AFTER SCHOOL CARE FOR PIONEER TRAIL

      • After school care will be offered at Pioneer Trail by the YMCA on-site at the school. Students will need to be picked up by 5:30PM. The Y-Care enrollment form is available now on the YMCA website and should be filled out and dropped off at the Knowles YMCA.
      • After school care will also be offered by the Boys & Girls Club at the Knowles YMCA Annex Building as a pilot program. Students will be bused from the school to the YMCA (address: 424 Stadium Blvd). Students will need to be picked up by 6:00PM. Families must be enrolled for Free and Reduced Meals to participate (go here to enroll). Online registration for this program will begin on Monday, July 22nd on the Boys & Girls Club website.
      • For more information on the cost of available before or after school care programs, please contact the Boys & Girls Club or the YMCA. The fee structures may vary depending on household income, and financial assistance or scholarships may be available. If you believe your family qualifies for the Free and Reduced Meal Program, you can apply here.
      • There will be no before school care provided; building opens at 7:00AM.

    TRANSPORTATION:

    • Elementary Buses:
      • Some stops at the furthest edge of the district may pick up as early as 6:15AM, but the vast majority of students will be picked up no earlier than 6:30AM. Buses will drop off at the school building as early as 7:15AM.
      • Schools dismiss at 2:45PM. Students will be dropped off between 2:55PM-3:30PM.
    • Secondary Buses (middle/high schools):
      • The majority of students will be picked up between 7:20AM-8:05AM.
      • Students will be dropped off between 4:00PM-4:50PM.
    • If you have already registered your student for the 2019-2020 school year, you can log-in to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal account to check the current transportation arrangements.
    • If changes are needed based on the time windows provided above, please fill out a Transportation Form and bring it to registration (Elementary Transportation Form, Secondary Transportation Form). You can also submit completed Transportation Forms to the JCPS Welcome Center via email at welcomecenter@jcschools.us
    • If you have not yet registered your student for the 2019-2020 school year, the Transportation Form will be provided at registration.
    • All changes must be submitted by the end of the day on August 14th!!
    • First Student will be finalizing bus routes closer to the start of the school year and will communicate pick-up times to families at that time via letter.
    • With the transition to tiered routing, First Student will be making an effort to streamline bus routes. In order to run more efficient (shorter and less crowded) routes, multiple students may be picked up at a central location rather than a single bus making multiple stops along the same neighborhood block or street.
    • As is current practice, students will be given a specific pick-up time for their bus stop. The driver may arrive up to 10 minutes before the pick-up time or 10 minutes after the pick-up time.
