Hello! I am Mrs. Walker!

I am originally from Jefferson City, Missouri. Growing up, I attended Lawson Elementary, Thomas Jefferson and Jefferson City High School. I am a proud Jefferson City Public School graduate! After high school, I attended the University of Arkansas (WPS!), where I received my Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education. I continued my education at Northwest Missouri State, where I received my Masters in Educational Leadership. This will be my 8th year teaching in the district. I have taught 3 years of Kindergarten at Thorpe Gordon and 4 years of 1st grade at Pioneer Trail. I was so incredibly grateful to come back to the district that helped shape me into the human I am today and give back to my community. My favorite part of teaching is building relationships with my kiddos and their families! It is my ultimate goal as an educator that every child in my classroom feels safe and loved when they come to school. I want to create a classroom that feels like a family, where each student feels valued and respected. 

My husband, Kody and I have two boys, Kaison and Kendrick. My husband is a football coach at Capital City and a Physical Education teacher at Thomas Jefferson. We are a sports family! You can most likely find us at a football field, baseball field, or basketball court.
