  • Welcome to Lawson Elementary!

While this is my eighth year at Lawson, 2019-2020 marks my twentieth year in the field of education with fifteen of those years as a principal. I am a graduate of Saint Louis University with a Doctorate of Educational Leadership. My previous experiences include teaching at Neosho Middle School in Neosho, Missouri, as well as St. Clair Elementary and Edgar Murray Elementary in St. Clair, Missouri. These teaching experiences allowed me the opportunity to teach kindergarten, third through seventh grade, as well as high school and college students within evening classes for thirteen years at East Central College in Union, Missouri. I continued working in the field of education as an assistant principal at Edgar Murray Elementary for two years and then five years at Cuba Middle School as principal.
I am fortunate to work with amazing teachers and support staff at Lawson Elementary as we strive for a culture of learning where the work is rigorous, relevant and engaging in our classrooms. We, here at Lawson, are one big family that work hard to ensure all of our students receive a strong education and are prepared to be successful in their future. We recognize the importance of a strong partnership with our parents and desire cultivating a culture of parental involvement within the school community. Please accept this personal invitation throughout the year to attend the many events we have scheduled so you may be active in your child's education. Active participation is key to the success of your child during his/her elementary school years.
As principal, Lawson Elementary is my home away from home. I hope that it is or becomes yours as well. I encourage you to become as involved as you can with your child's education and look forward to working with you throughout the year.
