• 1st Day of School
  • Hello my name is Gina Hankins.

I am happily married for over 20 years and a mother of 3 sons; my oldest is starting his teaching carreer this fall as a middle-school Math teacher, my middle son is heading off to start college in Arkansas, and my youngest is a brand new Capital City Cav. This is my sixth year teaching 5th grade at Lawson, which I absolutely love, love, love. I received my Elementary Education degree from Mizzou and spent my senior year student teaching 3rd grade at Belair Elementary. Before becoming a teacher, I worked for several years in computer technology for the State of Missouri.

I believe a good education is a young person's key to connecting with the world around them. It is my hope, that together we can be your learner's inspiration in realizing his/her fullest potential...not only at Lawson, but in your home and within our community.

When I am not in the classroom, I love to follow all of my son’s sporting events and spend quality time with my extended family.  I enjoy cooking, traveling, reading, listening to all types of music, and outdoor walks around my Jefferson City neighborhood and the Runge Nature Center.
