Hello, sixth graders!  My name is Mrs. Backes and I am beyond excited to be teaching at Lewis and Clark again this year!! This will be my 15th year of teaching.  I have experience teaching at multiple grade levels.

I grew up near Jefferson City, Missouri. In 2004, I graduated from Helias High School. I then attended Lincoln University and graduated in 2008 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I currently live just outside of Jefferson City with my husband, Travis, and my daughters, Braelyn (13 1/2) , Makenzie (almost 10), and Camdyn (almost 6). We love spending time together as a family, whether it be at home, in the water, playing sports, or with our friends and family. When I sneak a few minutes alone (very rare) I love to go shopping, get a massage and pedicure, or have a cup of coffee while catching up on my DVR!
