I am Dr. Deanne Fisher and it is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as your new principal at Lewis and Clark Middle School (LCMS). I bring 21 years of experience in education, including one year at Cole R-V School District in Eugene, MO., nine years at Simonsen 9th Grade Center as a teacher ad for the last 11 years, I served as Principal at the Jefferson City Academic Center (since its inception), the district's very first alternative school. At JCAC, we created an environment where at-risk students earned their high school diploma. In 2013, JCAC received State and National School of Character awards and won the National School Character award for a repeat in 2018, making JCAC the only alternative school in the state to receive such an honor.
A little about me professionally speaking... I received my Bachelor of Science in Education: History from Southwest Missouri State University, a Master's Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision/Secondary from Lincoln University, and my Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership from William Woods University. In 2012, I earned my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Saint Louis University.
Personally, I enjoy spending time with my daughter and new grandson, as well as my extended family. In my spare time I teach group fitness classes as a certified Les Mills Trainer at the Sam B. Cook Healthplex. Also of special note, I am a proud JCHS alum and graduate of the Class of 1990.
I look forward to joining the Lewis and Clark family this year as we build a strong culture and provide an academic pathway for our students to become Jaybirds at Jefferson City High School.
