Welcome to 7th grade Writing!

This will be year 18 for me in teaching and year 13 in Jefferson City Public Schools. I have taught children ranging from pre-kindergarten through middle school.  I am excited to be at Lewis and Clark and teach with a fabulous group of educators! 

I graduated from Jefferson City High School and attended Missouri State University.  After marrying, the Marine Corps moved us to California where I completed my BA in Interdisciplinary Studies.  I completed my MA in Teaching at The University of Memphis before moving back to Jefferson City to raise our family.

My husband, Adam, and I have three boys (Cole, Myles, Grey) that keep us busy with a variety of sports and activities.  I love watching football, baseball, reading, walking trails and doing laundry. I know, weird! 

I believe that reading and writing are the cornerstones to learning other subjects.  My goal is to teach and motivate each student to grow in their reading and writing skills this year.  I expect each student to be accountable for his/her learning and continue to challenge themselves to higher levels.  Thank you for sharing your child with me this year!  Please don't hesitate to reach out with any concerns.  Email is the best way to contact me this year.
