Hey there!
I’m really excited to have you in class this year!
I graduated from the University of Missouri in 2014 with a degree in Education and certifications to teach both English and Social Studies. When I’m not teaching, I love hanging out with my wife and daughter, spending time outdoors, playing golf, writing, and collecting a few quirky things here and there.
As we dive into the school year, my goal is to help you start each day strong and finish even stronger. If you show up with a good attitude and a willingness to learn, I have no doubt you’ll not only do well—you’ll actually enjoy yourself along the way.
Let’s make it a great year!

How long have you been teaching? What classes do you teach?
Posted by:I started my teaching career at Simonsen Ninth Grade Center in 2014. For five years, I co-taught an integrated English I and Social Studies course. When Capital City opened in 2019, I took on a new role, and became the yearbook and newspaper production instructor, and did so for 4 years. For the past few years, I have been teaching English II.

How would you describe your role at CCHS?
Posted by:I make it a goal to be involved as much as possible at Capital City! Whether it's teaching, being a Student Council advisor, or announcing Cavalier athletic events, I bleed silver and blue!
-
Where are you from?
Posted by:I grew up outside of St. Louis, Missouri and I went to high school at Christian Brothers College (CBC) High School. I loved my high school experience, and the teachers I had in school inspired me to become an educator!
-
Did you participate in any extra-curricular activities in high school?
Posted by:During my sophomore and senior years of high school, I was in a number of high school theatre productions. My senior year, I was also a Varsity basketball manager and statistician for the Varsity football team. When I wasn't doing anything like that, I was cheering loudly in the spirit section!
-
What's your favorite thing about teaching?
Posted by:I really enjoy seeing the growth that students show during their time in high school. Even between your freshman to sophomore year, there is an incredible transformation. One of my favorite things about teaching is knowing that I may have made an impact on somebody's life, be it tiny or a lot. For me, that's what it is all about.
-
Do you have any children?
Posted by:Yes! I am the proud father to my 4 year old daughter, Mila! She is amazing!
-
Do you have any pets?
Posted by:Yes! I have two dogs. Their names are Luca and Pinky, and they are both Australian Shepherd Mixes.
-
Now for a real question...what is your favorite food?
Posted by:I really like chicken wings, and if I ever see a menu with cheese fries...it's a buy.
-
What do you like to do in your free time?
Posted by:I really enjoy playing golf, shopping for vintage stuff, taking my dogs on a walk, and spending time with friends and family! I'm also a pretty crafty person, so whenever I can design things, that's a good way to pass the time.
