    Algebra 1    36 weeks.  1 credit.

Algebra 1 covers the content of the Algebra I curriculum in 50 minute daily classes for the entire school year. It is a course designed to prepare students for tomorrow's world by involving them in the discovery and exploration of math concepts, connecting algebra to the real world and to other disciplines.  In Algebra 1, students will build an understanding of the concepts that comprise the mathematical foundation for future courses and rewarding careers. The course emphasizes graphing, solving equations and inequalities, data analysis, and functions.  The use of technology as a problem-solving tool will be integrated and emphasized throughout the course. Algebra 1 is the foundation for higher mathematics courses. The state required End of Course (EOC) exam is administered upon completion of this course.

    Algebra 1A  36 weeks.  1 credit.

Algebra 1A covers the first half of the content of the Algebra I curriculum in 50 minute daily classes for the entire school year. Like Algebra 1, Algebra 1A is designed to prepare students for tomorrow's world by involving them in the discovery and exploration of math concepts, connecting algebra to the real world and to other disciplines.  The pace of Algebra 1A allows for more "in class" examples, more "in class" work time and more time in class for questions.  In Algebra 1A, students will build more confidence in their skills as they develop their understanding of the concepts that comprise the mathematical foundation for future courses and rewarding careers. Alegbra 1A emphasizes graphing, solving equations and inequalities, data analysis, and functions.  The use of technology as a problem-solving tool will be integrated and emphasized throughout the course. Algebra 1A students will not take the Algebra 1 EOC until they complete Algebra 1B which is the second half of our Algebra Curriculum.
