• Intro to Art

Students should come to class ready to use class time to work.

Students should bring a pencil and an eraser if they are not comfortable sharing, as well as Chromebooks. Most work should be completed in class, but bringing something home may sometimes need to happen.

Students should remember Art can be a bit messy with the materials involved, and to be mindful of their clothing, and other students' belongings.

We will learn about vocabulary to help us give and receive feedback, and we will practice creating art. We will use a variety of media, ranging from drawing to painting.

There is quite a bit of work and practice involved, but this class should be fun as well as influencing how your student sees and thinks about the world.

    Drawing I and II

Students should come to class ready to use class time to work.

Students in Drawing I will practice observation, learn correct proportion, study value, and explore several drawing media.

In Drawing II will continue practicing observation, proportion, and technique, as well as exploring how to represent themes with their images and selecting appropriate media to follow through with their intent.

All needed materials are provided, but if students have favorite pens, pencils, or other materials, they may bring them and use them.

There is quite a bit of work and practice involved, but this class should be fun as well as influencing how your student sees and thinks about the world.
