I have always loved French, even though I didn't start to learn the language until I was 15 years old. I would try to speak to everyone in French when I learned something new, much to everyone's annoyance, but my enthusiasm was contagious. Many of my friends decided to study French and my husband has tried to learn French. I have been teaching French for 23 years. I started as a teaching assistant in college at Mizzou for four years, then taught high school, and after a stint at graduate school, went back to teaching classes from Pre-K through high school, and this is my first year at Capital City High School. I am excited to have my own classroom and love this building!
My educational background includes:
BA in French: College of the Ozarks, Point Lookout, MO
BS in Social Studies: College of the Ozarks, Point Lookout, MO
MS in Community Development, University of Missouri - Columbia
MA in French, University of Missouri - Columbia
Studied Abroad - Universite de Caen, Caen France - 1 academic year
I am married to a Math teacher and wrestling official, Matt, and have three children, ages 24, 19 and 14. I also have a dog, Jake and a grand dog, Smokey. I am excited to be here at Capital City High School and hope to build the French program.
