Ms. Michele Stornello

Hello!

It's not easy to summarize my background as I have lived in five different states in countless different cities and attended twelve schools before graduating from high school, but here it goes. In 1998, I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Fine Art. After happily being a stay-at-home mom for several years, I started my high school English teaching career in Kiowa, Colorado in 2005. Family ties moved us back home to Camdenton, MO where I taught K-6 gifted education. A year later, we found our best-place-to-raise-kids hometown in Fayette, MO where I went back to teaching high school English, earned my masters in English from Southern New Hampshire University, and started my college teaching experience. I have taught for both Central Methodist University and Moberly Area Community College since then. After one year at Russellvile School District last year, I decided to join the Capital City Cavalier team. This is my second year at CCHS, and I could not be more excited to be back.

I love teaching, but I also love my other career: raising cattle. I am blessed to live on a beautiful farm where I get to help my partner, Tommy, with his cattle operation. I have three grown boys whom I love to visit whenever possible. I also have two step-daughters, a step-son-in-law, and a step-granddaughter who all live close by, and I get to see them often. Besides raising cattle--which involves SO many interesting jobs--I enjoy visiting my three sisters, cooking, watching cooking shows, traveling, fishing, going to concerts, camping, watching movies, sewing, painting, and quilting.

I am very excited to meet all of you and settle in to our new classroom. My number one expectation is for you to give your best every day, and I promise to always do the same for you. And, my favorite part is...we are going to have a good time learning from each other. Every year in my past eighteen years of teaching has flown by very quickly, so I plan on enjoying every moment!
