Nichols Career Center

Embedded or Technical Math is a course offered to most of the classes at Nichols Career Center. Tech Math works in conjunction with the CTE course in which a student is currently enrolled. During class, students will practice skills related to their respective CTE courses. Tech Math will also help prepare students for entrance exams that are often required by two and four year colleges. Upon successful completion of the Tech Math course, students may earn .5 math credits per year (except Ag and Broadcast Media).

The purpose of Tech Math is to build mathematical skills as they relate to mathematics in career scenarios. Through investigations of real-life contexts, students will develop an understanding of important mathematical concepts which will in turn enable them to make sense out of new situations and challenges.
