Building Trades is an AGC (Association of General Contractors) certified two-year course of study that prepares students for several occupations within construction. The first year introduces safety, hand and power tools, plans, specification and codes, footing and foundations, concrete placing and finishing, floor/wall/ceiling/roof framing, roofing, windows and exterior doors, exterior wall finishing, interior doors and trim, painting, staining, finishing, and cabinetmaking in a workshop setting. The second year advances those skills through the construction of off-campus residential housing in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity.
Nicholas Ruff was the SkillsUSA 2018 National Gold Medalist for Carpentary.
