With over twenty years in education, teaching all English classes from 7 th grade to
College, I am beginning my journey with Jefferson City Public Schools as the
Technical (Embedded) English Instructor in 2023.
I hold a B.S. in English Education (Lincoln University), an MA in English (Fort Hays
State University), and coursework toward a PhD in English Education (University
of Missouri Columbia). Additionally, I hold teaching certifications in 9-12
Communication Arts, 7-9 Language Arts, 9-12 Speech and Theatre, 5-9 Speech and
Theatre, and 9-12 Journalism.
I am a published author of two fiction books, Mended Fences and Letters from
Korea, and additional teaching pedagogy and fiction. I also lived an English
teacher’s dream job, working at the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum in
Hannibal, Missouri!
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, attending concerts, and spending time
with my dog, Ginger!
