Mr. Bryan McGraw was named as the district's new superintendent on March 14, 2022.
He has served a variety of roles in education over the past 26 years, including as a classroom teacher, intermediate school assistant principal (grades 6-8), acting elementary school principal, high school assistant principal and principal, and secondary education director. Prior to joining JC Schools as deputy superintendent in 2021, Mr. McGraw spent 11 years as the superintendent of schools for the North Pocono School District. There, he also served five years as the superintendent of record for the Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County.
During Mr. McGraw’s tenure as superintendent for the North Pocono School District: Jefferson Elementary was named as a National Blue Ribbon School; North Pocono High School was listed on the US News and World Reports Best U.S. High Schools four years in a row; North Pocono High School was listed on the Washington Post’s Most Challenging American High Schools five years in a row for how successfully the school challenges students; North Pocono High School was included in the AP District Honor Roll for increasing the access to advanced placement courses while maintaining or improving scores on AP exams, one of only two schools in the nation to be included for six consecutive years; and North Pocono High School was included in Newsweek’s America’s Top High Schools.
Mr. McGraw holds a bachelor’s degree from King’s College and a master’s degree from the University of Scranton. He received his Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility from the University of Scranton.
