    Jefferson City High School is a proud member of the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA).  We work in partnership with the association and follow MSHSAA by-laws.

    Mission Statement:  We will provide our student-participants with essential skills and lessons necessary to make them successful in life, while keeping academics and citizenship as our highest priorities.

    We believe:

    Success is dependent on teamwork, preparation, work ethic, desire, and coachability.

    Open communication and mutual respect among student-participants, coaches, parents, officials and faculty are essential.

    Athletic and Activity programs, led by well-qualified coaches and directors who are positive role models, instill pride in the student body and community.

    In accordance with the Missouri State High School Activities Association by-law 3.8 Physical Exams and Insurance:

    3.8.1 PhysicalThe school shall require of each student participating in athletics a certificate of an issued physical signed and authorized by a physician, advanced nurse practitioner in written collaborative practice with a physician, or a certified physician's assistant in collaboration with a sponsoring physician stating that the inpidual is physically able to participate in athletic practices and contests of his/her school. A student shall not be permitted to practice or compete for a school until a complete, signed certificate is on file at the school. The medical certificate is valid for the purpose of this rule if issued on or after February 1 of the previous school year.

    3.8.2 InsuranceA student shall not be permitted to practice or compete for a school until it has verification that he or she has basic athletic insurance coverage.
