  • Graduation Checklist
We are excited to celebrate with you and your graduate on May 15, at 12 PM, in Adkins Stadium! I hope that the reminders and tips below help you plan for a great graduation.

    • Check your student's grades; Senioritis is real and has been known to interfere with the best-laid graduation plans.

    • Check for any owed fines/fees on your student's account; they must be paid prior to picking up diplomas.

    • Make sure your student has their cap, gown, and tassel; if your gown is brand new, take it out and let it hang- it will help get the wrinkles out. :)

    • We will have a graduation practice/meeting on Wednesday; ask your student to walk you through the ceremony when they get home- telling you will help them remember themselves.

    • If you have questions specific to your student, please reach out to his/her counselor and/or principal.

More information will be coming as we draw nearer the date. Have a great day and week! See you soon and take care! Go Jays!

  • Late Bus - Tardy Procedures
Jays-if you arrive late due to a late bus problem-make sure to stop at the top of the Union stairs and get a pass from Mr. Bohannan. If you are just plain-ol-late, you’ll need to get a pass from Mrs. Helming across from the Jay tower.  Grab your breakfast, if you need it, and head straight to class.

We realize late buses are not the best-case scenario for a lot of our Jays, but we do appreciate how well you are doing with this. We are getting a lot of calls from parents because the 1st block is coded inaccurately. Please continue to help us by getting a pass from the correct area and heading to class.

  • Last Day of School
With the winter weather and snow days we had during the month of February, the district has decided to move the last day of school from Tuesday, May 24th to Thursday, May 26th. This day (May 26th) will be a full day of school instead of the typical three-hour early release on the last day of school.

This change will allow us to complete the school year ahead of Memorial Day while still meeting the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s (DESE) required hours.

We are as hopeful as you are that there will be no more snow days this year, but in the event any more do occur we may need to reevaluate the last day of school.

Warm weather is on its way- that means our warm weather announcements are here- we have been covered up all winter due to the cold, but warm weather is not an invitation to ignore the dress code- from your neckline to your shorts and skirt hems must be covered- all bottoms must have at least a 3” inseam- not sure? Look it up on our website in the student handbook. That also means we will want to hang out before and after school in parking lots and around the building- once school is done, it is just like passing period- please head immediately to your vehicle and leave- loitering on campus is not permitted.

  • Late PM Bus Procedures at JCHS
In the event that an afternoon bus is going to be more than 10 minutes late, pick up students at the Union Street entrance.  This offers a safer location and is covered in the event of mild weather. In the event of inclement weather, students will be moved inside the Union Street entrance to avoid severe weather and temperatures.  Thank you for your understanding.

  • Updated COVID-19 Protocols
    Hello JC Schools Families,

The Jefferson City School District has been closely monitoring any positive cases of COVID-19 that occur within the school environment since the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year.

Despite our initial concerns regarding how the Delta variant may impact the school environment, we are seeing a comparable number of positive cases and a significantly lower number of close contacts compared to last year at this time. We also have not seen any instances of close contacts from within the school environment becoming positive.

  • Cooperative Youth Conference and Leadership Experience

Attached is the application for  CYCLE (Cooperative Youth Conference and Leadership Experience) program.

This is a three-day leadership camp in Jefferson City where students learn about cooperatives and government. Even though COVID kept us from hosting an event with students around the state this past year, the delegates had a great time hearing motivational speakers and visiting with Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe.

This program is open to high school sophomores. To participate, they need to fill out the application and return it by March 18.
Three Rivers Electric Coop will award the trip to six students and the six runners-up will receive $50.
