  • Hello Bright Young Scholars! I am pleased to be entering my sixth year at Jefferson City High School Staff this year. My name is Jordan Hart. I grew up in Lamar, MO and earned my degree from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO. I will be teaching Speech I/II, Debate I/II, and English III. In total, this year will be my fourth year as a school teacher. My first teaching experience was found in Lyons, KS where I served as the Speech, Debate, Drama, and Forensics from 2011-2013. After I left this position, I began pursuing my Masters Degree at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO where I served as a Speech I Professor, teaching college freshman. Then during the Spring of 2014 I found that there was an opening here at JCHS, which I couldn't pass up. I am excited to have the opportunity to work with each of you this year. In my classes, you will have numerous opportunities to voice your opinions, be imaginative/creative, while also being challenged to strive for excellence in all you do. In addition to the teaching load that I carry, I am honored and excited to serve as the Head Coach of the Jefferson City High School Debate/Forensics squad! I absolutely enjoy this activity and believe that the skills learned while participating are invaluable. I have experience in both coaching and competing and find that there is nothing like this activity. There is not a single other activity that embraces every quality and skill that you carry like forensics/debate. I love coaching and you will see it if you take any of my classes! Check out our team website at www.jchsjaydebate.weebly.com !!!  When I am not in the classroom or working with my forensics/debate students, I have several outside hobbies that I like to invest time in. I love to sing and share a talent that I believe has been given to me. When I lived in Lyons, I served as a male vocalist for the First Baptist Church Praise team, which I found to be very fun. In addition to singing, I enjoy playing video games (like any young-aged boy :D), drawing, taking photographs, traveling, and even decorating cakes. In addition to putting time in to my interests, I love hanging out with my family and friends. They are the world to me! I have an older brother and older sister. My brother, Wesley, lives in Florida and works as an electrician. My sister, Whitney, lives in California and is the leading supervisor for a Bank.
