Foods I is an introductory course that covers nutrition, kitchen safety and the basics of cooking.  Students are expected to assist in the management of the class facilities, including ensuring that it is kept clean, dishes are washed, dried and put away, and kitchen laundry is put away.  Once the safety units are completed and students have passed their safety test, we will cook at least once a week throughout the rest of the semester.

Textiles I is a course that covers natural and synthetic fibers, sewing technology and the basics of sewing.  Students will complete at least 3 sewing projects (hopefully 4).  Two projects will be the same for all students as they learn how to use sewing machines and at least one will be a project of the student's choosing.  Students are responsible for providing material and other necessary supplies for their independent project.

Interior Design focuses on the principles and elements of design as they apply to the interiors of houses and other facilities.  Students will learn how to draw one and two point perspectives and floor plans, as well as create mood boards for rooms of their choosing.  Students will build a portfolio of their work throughout the class.
