Mr. Vincent Sabourin

Hello!

My name is Vincent Sabourin and I will be teaching Physical Science here at JCHS and I am one of the sponsors of the Chess Club. This is my sixth year teaching at JCHS and I am thrilled to get back to school with five years' experience as a Jaybird. I am looking forward to meeting students and parents and developing relationships that will allow all of us to grow and thrive as lifelong learners.

This is my 8th year teaching with my first two years spent  at St. Elizabeth R-IV. At St. E I taught middle school science 6-8 and elementary computers preK-6, as well as a high school elective S.T.E.A.M class. I also started my coaching career as an assistant baseball coach.

I grew up in Lake Ozark and graduated from School of the Osage High School. I was a four sport athlete during my time at Osage and I continued playing soccer at the collegiate level at Hendrix College in Conway, AR. I majored in Physics at Hendrix and discovered my love for teaching while working as a Lab TA in the General Physics Labs. I am married to a wonderful woman and NCC instructor, Emili Sabourin. We are blessed with a son, Soren; he will turn one in September of this year. We also have two dogs, Huckleberry (9) and Dottie (2), who keep us busy and active! In my free time I enjoy reading books to and playing with Soren, hunting, fishing, videogames, playing/studying chess, reading sci-fi or fantasy, and taking long walks with my wife, my son, and our dogs.

It is nothing short of a blessing to be able to teach my favorite subject and sponsor my favorite game at such an amazing school. All school years come with their own set of challenges, but regardless of what obstacles we face this year, I am committed to providing the most effective and engaging academic instruction. Let's have a great year Jaybirds!

Best,

Vincent
